Isabel and Rob's pretty countryside wedding

This weekend we were privileged to be part of Isabel and Rob's amazing wedding near Reading.

There were some gorgeous touches, created by Isabel herself and we were so excited to co-ordinate their day for them.
Here are some of our images from the day, we hope you enjoy them.

Isabel created this Wishing Bike, for guests to hang wishes and notes on tags for them, such a fab idea!

Gorgeous cakes by Karen Pilkington at The Cake Stand.

The amazing honeymoon suite!

So much attention to detail, pretty florals and excellent craft ideas by Isabel.

A beautiful country garden for our drinks reception.

We spent a lot of time puffing up Pom Poms!

Isabel hand made all these gorgeous heart favours

We totally loved this relaxed, elegant and pretty wedding. It was lovely to see everything take shape and for a wonderful couple to have a fantastic day.

Thank you Isabel and Rob for allowing us to share in your special day.

Arabella Bridal - be beautiful

We have had the pleasure recently of chatting with the wonderful guys at Arabella Bridal, they are best known for their amazing birdcage veils and handmade fascinators. However we also wanted to share with you their new workshops for that special hen party or perhaps a birthday celebration, enjoy a glass of bubbly and afternoon tea whilst you learn a new skill - perfect!

Every bride wants to look their best on their special day and a beautiful bridal head-piece is often the accessory that makes a bride feel like a true princess for the day. Wearing a bridal birdcage veil or bridal fascinator is, for most, a once in a lifetime experience - never again will you have an excuse to wear such a beautiful head-piece for all to admire, so it’s important that you choose exactly the right headpiece to suit your dress and big day.

Arabella Bridal is a UK based, family run bridal headwear company supplying beautiful bridal birdcage veils and fascinators. It was set up by a very creative, artist and mother who is obsessed with hats of all descriptions. Frustrated by the lack of quality, hand-made birdcage veils and fascinators on the market in the lead up to her own wedding, she decided to do something about it...

All of their beautiful bridal birdcage veils and fascinators are hand-made meaning that if you don't see exactly what you want on the website, get in touch with them and they can make you your perfect headpiece. Arabella Bridal stock a wide range of beautiful, affordable birdcage veils and fascinators with something to suit everyone's style and budget. From simple alice band fascinators to birdcage veils adorned with feathers, lace, pearls and diamante, whatever you are looking for, we will be able to help. And remember, brides don't have to wear white, ivory or wear anything traditional for that matter, so whatever colour or style you are after - don't hesitate to get in touch. They do love a challenge :-)

If you are purchasing a birdcage veil or fascinator direct from the website, they can usually dispatch your chosen birdcage or veil within a matter of days. For bespoke headpieces being made from scratch, this can take anything from 3 days to a month, depending on the materials required and work involved. Hannah tells us "We shall always ask about your timelines and inform you of how long we think it is going to take us to make your birdcage veil or fascinator so that no important deadlines are missed!" which is reassuring and shows their dedication to providing only the best service.

Everything about Arabella Bridal speaks of elegance and professionalism, I have been lost for hours just browsing their website and wondering how many special occasions I could rustle up so that I can place an order or two - in fact I might just order one for the weekly grocery shop, why not!

Fascinator making workshops

We love this idea, why not choose something different for your hen party or perhaps any girly get together, how about a night together to cheer a girl-friend up or perhaps before those Christmas parties make the rounds. Based in Edinburgh these ladies can travel to your venue or home, take a look here for more inspiration on these fabulous workshop events

We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these ladies, they are very talented and have some amazing, budget friendly pieces. We urge you to take a look at their website and chat through your ideas with them, treat yourself and make a statement at your wedding or party - every girl deserves to look their best!

Arabella Bridal's website can be found here - http://www.arabellabridal.com/

They also have a sale on at the moment - birdcage veils and fascinators prices from just £45!

Hidden gem in The New Forest

Today's blog is to share with you a fabulous new venue that has joined our portfolio. It is a gorgeous historical mansion that boasts amazing grounds with stunning views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

This is a wedding venue with a difference and we believe it has that perfect solution to today's DIY weddings. By hiring the grounds that surround this old, beautiful house, you have a totally private and exclusive wedding venue that you can enjoy for the entire weekend of your wedding.

The choice of Pylewell as a venue for a wedding becomes an obvious one after your initial visit. The quaint church of St Mary, in South Baddesley is next to the Pylewell Estate and is barely minutes from the house. The grounds during the summer months, when weddings will take place, are spectacular.

Our support is included in the hire fee and you can rest assured that with the combination of a stunning venue and experienced wedding planners, your wedding booking is in the best hands.

Alongside hiring Pylewell for your wedding venue, we have access to a number of bell tents where you and your guests can camp over in style, these are available to hire or you can bring your own onto the park. Make it a weekend to remember and enjoy brunch the next day or party late into the evening without the worry and expense of taxis and hotels.

My favourite mood boards

Whilst researching some British wedding themes for my next Californian blog about 'The Best of British' I came across some wonderful mood boards that I simply adore, I wanted to share them with you ....

(Samanthawhitehead-young.co.uk)
Nothing says 'British wedding' than the typical wet weather gear, so why not jazz it up and make the most of our unpredictable (or maybe predictable!?) climate

(before the big day.co.uk)
This is such a soft mood board with plenty of countryside feel, embracing rustic and vintage in a typically British way, I loved this easy feel mood board.

(the wedding community blog.com)
The Wedding Community blog always has excellent ideas and tips for your big day, here they choose some wonderful vintage pieces for a classic British afternoon tea in soft pastel colours.

(saviour weddings.com)
I adore this, bright summer colours and a fun party feel!

(blog.advocat-art.com)
What a fabulous way to celebrate an autumn / harvest wedding, using local produce and making the most of the rustic countryside, gorgeous.

(in the tree house.co.uk)
Ahhhh the great British weather ... Enjoy it we say!

(the wedding community blog.com)
Lastly another amazingly pretty board, using some vintage twists with a strong heart theme this makes your heart sing with love.

Do send us your favourites ...

Bye for now

What is a Wedding Planner ...?

What is a wedding planner. .. We asked a group of brides ...

"someone who will organise your entire day?"

"someone who helps you spend money?"

"someone who takes over?"

"someone you will spend a fortune on?"

"someone who is only for the rich and famous?"

Hmmm.

Would you believe me if I said Isabella Weddings is totally the opposite?! We founded our company on being something very different to this, yes there are planners (and lovely ones at that) that cater for those big budget weddings but we wanted to be different.

After all no matter what your budget, every stress is the same isn't it? Are you getting good value for money, will your guests enjoy the day, am I spending too much, will everything be perfect. Many couples steer away from hiring a planner for fear that it is an added expense to an already high budget, sadly we know this can be the case but not at Isabella Weddings.

We save our couples money and in fact we strive to do this with every couple we look after, we wouldn't be happy if we didn't! We are not loyal to any supplier and will work hard to help you achieve your perfect day and within budget. We recently saved a bride over £3000 on her wedding by knowing some ways to cut costs.

Think of us as a helping hand, someone to share the load with, someone who has done it many times before and knows how to get the best out of a supplier or venue and a trusted colleague who can take care of the co-ordination whilst you enjoy the day.

And now booking us is hassle free too, for a one off fee we will be there on the day and also support you fully throughout your final months and weeks of planning. You can relax and enjoy the creativity and designing process knowing we are there to bounce ideas off. We won't take over, we will help and support.

It's your day.

Above are a selection of some thank you's we have received, this is the best way to really see what other couples have thought of us, we also offer many references as well so you can chat to previous clients about their experiences.

We work for you and your budget, do think about having a planner (in fact we should be called Wedding PA's really!) we are nice, normal, friendly and relaxed people.

See you soon we hope!

Meet the suppliers - our recent networking evening

Networking in Romsey ....

Our latest get together of wedding suppliers was excellent, we had a fabulous collection of visitors and a chance to meet some new faces, chat about some excellent ideas and make some valuable contacts.

In return we hope that they too went home knowing a little more about us, understand how we can help brides and more importantly what we believe makes a good wedding planner - and that's different than what most think!

So the line up, to give them a little mention, was (in no particular order)

Frankie Laborda Hair and Make up.

http://www.frankielaborda.com/biography.html
Frankie is fairly new to the wedding world, she is an experienced make up and hair stylist of many years from London who is now in Hampshire and lucky for us that she is! I can't wait to work with her on a wedding.

Candy with Love

http://www.candywithlove.co.uk/
Who doesn't love sweets? These guys add some colour and sugar to your wedding or event, fully stocked and delivered to your door who could ask for more!

Emma Moore Photography

http://www.emmamoorephotography.co.uk
We love Emma, her photos have a natural and comfortable feel, she is a really lovely person and a pleasure to work with. She adores old style film and is dedicated to her craft.

Eye Candy Hair and Make up

http://www.eyecandyhairandmakeup.co.uk/
Featured in Vogue magazine this month, Sharon knows her stuff. I met her a few weeks back at a wedding and we hit it off, she is a great person, perfect for putting and bride at ease and her work is excellent.

Pomp and Petals

http://www.pompandpetals.co.uk/weddings.html
This is the first time we have met Kay and what a wonderful lady she is, she is fairly new to the wedding world and we can see her taking it over, her work is amazing and her view on working with couples is exactly as it should be. We look forward to seeing her in action.

Martin Harris Photography

http://www.mhphotographyhampshire.co.uk/
Martin is a regular at our supplier get togethers and has enough drive and enthusiasm to put us all to shame, we hope to see him in action very soon.

Abbie - Life Poster

http://lifeposter.co.uk/
We loved this idea, have a range of your wedding images set in one beautiful collage, choose from various designs and prices. Ideal for gifts or for display (especially if you can't decide which of your pic you love the most!)

Bramley's Tea Rooms

http://www.bramleystearooms.co.uk/
It was lovely to meet Ellie and Jo from Bramley's (and try some yummy cake!) I've been to Bramley's myself and adore their cakes and treats. Ellie is a self confessed cake-a-holic and they know their stuff! They provide cakes to events and businesses all over the Romsey and surrounding areas and are soon to be expanding to a wider field. Perfect for that English wedding with an afternoon tea.

Kimberly Garrard Photography

This is the first time we have met Kimberley and it was a pleasure to do so finally, her images are excellent and we loved looking through her blog. We hope to work with her soon.

Laurel Designs

http://m.laureldesignstationery.com/#default.html
Wonderful to meet Carol and find out about her hands on service, not only stationery but she also offers a decoration service so a bride can have all her creative needs catered for under one roof.

Helen Rushton Photography

http://helenrushtonphotography.co.uk/
Helen is a contemporary photography, offering something different for your wedding day. She also offers a fantastic boudoir package which all lovely ladies should take advantage of! Do also take a moment to read her blog ....

Alisha's Events Photography

http://www.alishaseventsphotography.co.uk
Alisha is a lovely lady also, she has some fabulous images and loves working with couples. She is supporting a venue of ours in Portsmouth soon and hopes to shoot some more couples this year with us, we hope so too.

So that's the round up, we truly had a wonderful evening and felt honoured to meet such talented people, we are grateful for the support everyone showed and hope to see everyone and more at the next one in May!
