Weddings by the sea

I had pleasure of being invited to a gorgeous sea fronted venue recently - The Marine restaurant in Milford on Sea. I drove through country lanes and then along the quiet sea path, after reaching the end I stopped in a lovely, spacious car park and stepped out to hear the sea and smell the fresh air.

This is a good place to marry I thought. And it really is, the owners and the team here are truly lovely, really keen to make the most of your day and help make it just perfect. We are working with them to produce some excellent wedding packages that suit both your budget and your personal style. The restaurant is now in its second year and there are big plans - including maybe a hot tub in the roof!

The roof top bar is stunning and offers unbroken views across the sea, sip your champagne here after your ceremony on the beach and enjoy the feeling of being abroad or on a cruise ship!

The beautifully decorated restaurant has a downstairs mood lit bar (with a gorgeous little snug area, perfect for the kids or your own private seating area) and a lovely, spacious upstairs restaurant where again you have the best views in the town.

We chatted lots about weddings and the team are keen to offer the entire venue for exclusive use, and better still it is at a pocket friendly rate too. There are some bedrooms that are likely to be available next year, including a first floor 'flat', sumptuously decorated and with all you need for a seaside bedroom, getting ready in the morning with the girls and sipping bubbly.

This venue is totally lovely, every area has been really tastefully and exquisitely decorated and care has been taken to choose the perfect staff - they truly want to offer a fantastic experience for your wedding and we are sure they can do it too.

We are in the process of offering some excellent wedding planning support to the team so if you are looking for a wedding venue with a difference, look no further. With a perfect combination of wonderful caring staff, a gorgeous venue and a professional wedding planner, what more could you ask for.

The exclusive use is likely to include the venue which is solely yours, all your daytime and evening food, drinks and bedrooms.... All for under £10k! Ask us for exact details. Special deals are offered for mid-week and out of season weddings too.

I was really impressed and excited about this venue, we know you will be too. Get in touch anytime to talk through your wedding plans further.

Beccie and Martins sunny Hill Place Wedding

This weekend I was happy to be helping with Beccie and Martin's summer fete wedding at the beautiful Hill Place.
The couple had a small ceremony in the gorgeous Morning room at the house followed by drinks reception and garden games on the lawn and a very pretty summer fete themed marquee reception. As Beccie and Martin wished, the whole affair was extremely relaxed and with the sun gracing us with its presence all day it couldn't have gone better.

The couple bought their own marquee to put up with peach and cream lining. The garden games including croquet went down very well!

The couples vintage style suitcase with tickets to find your way to your table!

Increasingly popular 'cheese cake' as an added feature looked fantastic!

The stunning Choccywoccydoodah cake certainly brought the 'wow' factor!

Arabella Bridal - be beautiful

We have had the pleasure recently of chatting with the wonderful guys at Arabella Bridal, they are best known for their amazing birdcage veils and handmade fascinators. However we also wanted to share with you their new workshops for that special hen party or perhaps a birthday celebration, enjoy a glass of bubbly and afternoon tea whilst you learn a new skill - perfect!

Every bride wants to look their best on their special day and a beautiful bridal head-piece is often the accessory that makes a bride feel like a true princess for the day. Wearing a bridal birdcage veil or bridal fascinator is, for most, a once in a lifetime experience - never again will you have an excuse to wear such a beautiful head-piece for all to admire, so it’s important that you choose exactly the right headpiece to suit your dress and big day.

Arabella Bridal is a UK based, family run bridal headwear company supplying beautiful bridal birdcage veils and fascinators. It was set up by a very creative, artist and mother who is obsessed with hats of all descriptions. Frustrated by the lack of quality, hand-made birdcage veils and fascinators on the market in the lead up to her own wedding, she decided to do something about it...

All of their beautiful bridal birdcage veils and fascinators are hand-made meaning that if you don't see exactly what you want on the website, get in touch with them and they can make you your perfect headpiece. Arabella Bridal stock a wide range of beautiful, affordable birdcage veils and fascinators with something to suit everyone's style and budget. From simple alice band fascinators to birdcage veils adorned with feathers, lace, pearls and diamante, whatever you are looking for, we will be able to help. And remember, brides don't have to wear white, ivory or wear anything traditional for that matter, so whatever colour or style you are after - don't hesitate to get in touch. They do love a challenge :-)

If you are purchasing a birdcage veil or fascinator direct from the website, they can usually dispatch your chosen birdcage or veil within a matter of days. For bespoke headpieces being made from scratch, this can take anything from 3 days to a month, depending on the materials required and work involved. Hannah tells us "We shall always ask about your timelines and inform you of how long we think it is going to take us to make your birdcage veil or fascinator so that no important deadlines are missed!" which is reassuring and shows their dedication to providing only the best service.

Everything about Arabella Bridal speaks of elegance and professionalism, I have been lost for hours just browsing their website and wondering how many special occasions I could rustle up so that I can place an order or two - in fact I might just order one for the weekly grocery shop, why not!

Fascinator making workshops

We love this idea, why not choose something different for your hen party or perhaps any girly get together, how about a night together to cheer a girl-friend up or perhaps before those Christmas parties make the rounds. Based in Edinburgh these ladies can travel to your venue or home, take a look here for more inspiration on these fabulous workshop events

We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these ladies, they are very talented and have some amazing, budget friendly pieces. We urge you to take a look at their website and chat through your ideas with them, treat yourself and make a statement at your wedding or party - every girl deserves to look their best!

Arabella Bridal's website can be found here - http://www.arabellabridal.com/

They also have a sale on at the moment - birdcage veils and fascinators prices from just £45!

My favourite mood boards

Whilst researching some British wedding themes for my next Californian blog about 'The Best of British' I came across some wonderful mood boards that I simply adore, I wanted to share them with you ....

(Samanthawhitehead-young.co.uk)
Nothing says 'British wedding' than the typical wet weather gear, so why not jazz it up and make the most of our unpredictable (or maybe predictable!?) climate

(before the big day.co.uk)
This is such a soft mood board with plenty of countryside feel, embracing rustic and vintage in a typically British way, I loved this easy feel mood board.

(the wedding community blog.com)
The Wedding Community blog always has excellent ideas and tips for your big day, here they choose some wonderful vintage pieces for a classic British afternoon tea in soft pastel colours.

(saviour weddings.com)
I adore this, bright summer colours and a fun party feel!

(blog.advocat-art.com)
What a fabulous way to celebrate an autumn / harvest wedding, using local produce and making the most of the rustic countryside, gorgeous.

(in the tree house.co.uk)
Ahhhh the great British weather ... Enjoy it we say!

(the wedding community blog.com)
Lastly another amazingly pretty board, using some vintage twists with a strong heart theme this makes your heart sing with love.

Do send us your favourites ...

Bye for now
Marie
